After six months of training (3 months language and 3 months technical training), I spent 2 years (1992 - 1994) teaching subsistence farmers to plant crops on-level, which supports soils conservation, as opposed to up and down hills, and to improve soils using organic matter, manure and nitrogen fixing beans. Besides it being a valuable experience, I met my future wife who was another Peace Corps volunteer in the same sector. That was 17 years ago.
