Bucay is the canton capitol of the canton Bucay. It is sometimes known as General Antonio Elizalde, lies adjacent to the town of Cumandá, which is the canton capitol of the canton Cumandá, in the province of Riobamba. The Ecuadorian railroad runs through Bucay. The town has the dubious honor of being the birthplace of Lorena Bobbitt.
