The Friends of Cameroon was established in 1987 following the 25th Anniversary celebration by NCRPCV in Washington, DC. The organiztion was founded to continue the connection with Cameroon, its peoples, and cultures. The organization publishes a quarterly newsletter in its website, www.friendsofcameroon.org, and has in the past organized social functions for Cameroon RPCVs. The organiztion continues to fund small development projects for Cameroonian village-based organizations, and has provided more than $25,000 for more that 30 development projects since the founding of FOC. Most recently, FOC provided $3,600 to support four PCV/local organiztion collaborations in HIV/AIDS education projects in Cameroon.
