Rodney has worked in international and community development, stabilization and risk reduction for US government agencies, the World Bank, and the Smithsonian Institute, in Africa and Afghanistan for over 15 years. He has a BA in Psychology, a Masters and a Doctorate in Anthropology, with specializations, and minors, in Tropical Forestry, African Studies, Pastoralism, NRM, Disaster Relief and Farming Systems Management from the University of Florida. Rod served as an Environment and Forestry volunteer for Peace Corps Niger between 1990 and 1993 (Ayorou, Tioudawa and Dosso). He has worked as a Wilderness Firefighter in California and Nevada, and as a professional photographer in NYC. After 6 years in the Gambia he fled to Afghanistan to work with USAID and the Office of Transition Initiatives.
