Farming is the main occupation here and the majority of family units live in grass-thatched homes. Need for an educational resource building/library is the result of long standing community meetings among the leadership of the local PTA, Ministry of Education, government council, churches, beekeeper society, HIV awareness organization and the various ethnic groups. This leadership has identified illiteracy as the community's most significant problem, and identified an educational center as an essential resource for children and adults alike. In addition to providing access to reading materials, the building will also provide a place to meet on health issues, agriculture, literacy and the many other issues being addressed in communities striving for progress and development. The community will be providing all labor, local building supplies such as sand and stone for construction, as well as tables and bookshelves. Partnership funds will be used for supplies to include cement, wire, steel, window and doorframes, roofing, nails and painting materials.</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
