Fell out of bed feeling down. This has birghtneed my day!

Access to basic health care is a service that should be available to everyone. In a rural country like Tanzania this can be a challenge. Cities and villages may be spread out over a large area of land. This often leads to health care facilities also being spaced widely apart, leaving some villages many kilometers away from any type of health care facility. The villagers in these locations are left with no other choice but to travel long distances, often by foot, for such basic health services as vaccines, child birthing, and physical exams. This is one of these villages. The 3,000 inhabitants currently have to walk 11.5 km to reach the nearest health facility in a neighboring village. It can be difficult for villagers, especially for mothers who have the main responsibility for daily household activities such as washing and cooking, to travel such a far distance. Most people have no access to motorized transportation, or even bicycles, so any trip made to the neighborhood health care facility is typically done on foot. The villagers see a great need for dispensary, the most basic of health care facilities, in their village. The village government has already collected a small fee from every family in the village for the dispensary. The District Government has set aside funds for the construction and have also asked for funds to help complete the project.
