The goal of this project is to assist building 2 classrooms for a growing secondary girl’s school in eastern Kenya.<br />

The Secondary Girls School is located between two towns, on the hills of Mount Kenya. The school parents are building classrooms for the growing school, as student enrolment has increased from 184 to 292 students from 2008 to 2009. A site for the classroom building was identified in the school compound and a foundation was built to support four classrooms. The development fund allowed for building two of the four planned classrooms thereby allowing the arriving students to be seated in a classroom while being educated.<br />
<br />
The need for the two additional classrooms is great. The students at present are very crowded in small classrooms in old wooden buildings. In addition, one classroom had to be borrowed from the neighbouring primary school to allow the 98 second year students to be divided into two classes with about 50 students per class. With the addition of four new classrooms the school will offer its students classrooms built for learning which these bright hard working students deserve.</div>Wikibot
